QRCS Provides Medical Services for 3,000 Beneficiaries in Qatar

July 31st, 2017 ― Doha: Over the past few weeks, Qatar Red Crescent's (QRCS) Medical Affairs Division conducted several medical activities for the benefit of more than 3,000 people in Qatar. July 31st, 2017 ― Doha: Over the past few weeks, Qatar Red Crescent's (QRCS) Medical Affairs Division conducted several medical activities for the benefit of more than 3,000 people in Qatar. During the holy month of Ramadan, QRCS's medics provided blood sugar and pressure tests free of charge for 1,280 mosque visitors (830 men and 450 women). Also, 15 health education lectures were delivered to inform the mosque visitors about healthy practices and precautions. Ambulance vehicles and teams were dispatched to medically cover some Ramadan sports events held by Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Al-Rayyan TV, and Aspetar. Over the days of Eid-ul-Fitr, QRCS secured medical coverage of Eid and summer celebrations at Katara Cultural Village, in cooperation with Qatar Sports For All Federation. QRCS's mobile first-aid units received 20 injuries, which were all treated on-site. QRCS's mall resident medical units received 69 diverse cases at Villaggio and Hyatt Plaza malls, two of which were referred to Hamad General Hospital's emergency department. Throughout the year, QRCS provides surface water rescue and first aid services at the Sealine Beach area. In the Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr period, 30 drowning cases were rescued, 341 people received a minor first-aid help, and more than 1,200 people were advised against drowning risks. At the QRCS-managed Al-Hemaila and Mesaimeer Workers' Health Centers, 785 and 974 patients were received, respectively, during the Eid days.
