QRCS, Ajial Qatar launch 4th youth forum

12/20/2020

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Ajial Qatar launched today the 4th Ajial Educational Forum at the Sharq Village and Spa. Under the theme of “Doing Good to Others”, the event is attended by 20 students, with all preventive measures applicable. The purpose of the forum is to instill the Islamic teachings and spirit of citizenship into the youth; promote the human values of volunteerism, proactivity, and social responsibility; and develop first aid skills, so that the participants will be able to deal with any emergencies and provide immediate care for the victims. This edition of Ajial features many organizations. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is implementing an initiative to implant 100 trees at the park of Hamad International Airport. The General Directorate of Traffic will visit the forum and deliver a workshop on traffic safety. The General Directorate of Civil Defence will welcome the students at the Civil Defence Headquarters. They will also visit the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya). A workshop will be delivered by Qatar Medical Association. A special guest speaker at the forum will be Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Thani, the Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) Brand Ambassador. He is the first Qatari man to summit Mount Everest and raise Qatar’s flag in Antarctica, Earth's southernmost continent. Many important topics and activities are covered by the event’s agenda, including the Red Cross and Red Crescent Fundamental Principles, humanitarian mission of QRCS, Islamic teachings, and teamwork. There will be theoretical and practical training in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and giving rescue breaths. Other sports, fun, and leadership activities will be held on the beach, and the participants will attend an interactive meeting with Khalid Al-Jumaily, host of the Stars of Science reality TV show.
