Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Seashore Group, one of the fastest growing and largest multifaceted business groups in the country, signed today morning a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build bilateral partnership, capitalize on their expertise and resources towards sustainable and effective response to their respective humanitarian activities, and launch awareness-raising programs for expatriate workers on safety, security, and protection outside the city of Doha.
The agreement was signed by Faisal Mohamed Al-Emadi, Acting Secretary-General of QRCS, and Salem Saeed Al-Mohannadi, CEO of Seashore Group. The signing ceremony was attended by Hussein Aman Al-Ali, Director of Volunteering and Local Development Division at QRCS, Mohamed Rashid Al-Mari, Director of Communication and Public Relations, and Manal Issa Al-Fahaid, Partner Relations Consultant.
In his remarks, Mr. Al-Emadi praised the strategic role of Seashore Group locally. “This agreement reflects the importance attached by the two parties to community awareness-raising and carrying out programs to promote human rights in Qatar — something that serves the humanitarian goals and mission of QRCS," said Mr. Al-Emadi.
He added that partnership is a key cornerstone of QRCS's strategy to achieve its long-term humanitarian and development goals and mobilize support from various sectors/organizations to improve the standard of living for vulnerable people, especially in community awareness and education, inspired by its slogan “Saving Lives and Preserving Dignity".
Mr. Al-Mohannadi stated that the agreement aimed to strengthen partnership with QRCS, launch safety and security awareness programs for workers, and develop innovative programs to serve as many beneficiaries as possible.
The cooperation agreement establishes the legal framework for coordination mechanisms between the two parties, in pursuit of the human development goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, by enforcing the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) to address humanitarian causes and awareness-raising initiatives executed by QRCS.
