Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has concluded its social mother and child events during Ramadan with a ceremony to honor outstanding students in Qatar and the educators and mothers who supported their success. The ceremony was opened with some recitation of the Holy Quran. Nayef bin Faisal Al-Mohannadi, Director of QRCS Human Resources and Administrative Services, welcomed the guests and said that QRCS pursues its noble humanitarian and development goals in harmony with the strategy of Qatar, which pays great attention to the individual and social development by building human capacity. "QRCS has for years hailed the outstanding students, to encourage them make more progress and become an example for their peers. Looking for the better, the program's scope was expanded to cover more groups that deserve appreciation, namely the mothers, educators, and students with special needs who challenge their physical and social limitations to shape their future," he remarked. Then, Mr. Al-Mohannadi honored 95 outstanding students and seven mothers, educators, and volunteers who made exceptional contributions in their careers. One case honored during the event was a mother who had difficulties in her life. She sought help from QRCS, which supported her professionally and psychologically, until her children graduated. Now, she is taking care of other needy cases to help them succeed in their lives as well. In the end, 95 students and seven mothers, teachers, and volunteers received prizes and gifts for their voluntary service and charitable activities. The QR 150,000 program identifies the students who have received high marks in all educational levels, in cooperation with the management of schools, to honor them as well as their parents and teachers in recognition of their great efforts, and as an incentive for them towards academic and professional excellence.
