QRCS Announces QR 84 mln Ramadan Campaign

May 1st, 2016 ― Doha: In a press conference, Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) announced today the launch of its annual Ramadan campaign for the year 1438 A.H., with QR 84 million worth of projects during and beyond Ramadan in Qatar and 11 other countries. QR 7,123,000 of this amount will go to Ramadan activities. May 1st, 2016 ― Doha: In a press conference, Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) announced today the launch of its annual Ramadan campaign for the year 1438 A.H., with QR 84 million worth of projects during and beyond Ramadan in Qatar and 11 other countries. QR 7,123,000 of this amount will go to Ramadan activities. The conference was attended by QRCS Executive Director, Youssef Hassan Al-Hammadi, Director of Resource Mobilization and Head of Ramadan Campaign, Saad Shahin Al-Kaabi, and Director of Communication, Issa Mohamed Al Ishaq. Mr. Al-Hammadi revealed that last year's campaign conducted local and international projects at a cost of QR 171 million. "As usual every year, QRCS is launching a campaign for Ramadan, which involves Ramadan projects at a cost of QR 7,123,000 million and year-round projects valued at QR 65 million. These cover shelter, health care, food and nonfood aid, water and sanitation, education, family support, and health and social awareness," he said. The target projects are as follows: (1) Local Ramadan projects including 'Ramadan Iftar', 'Eid clothing', 'This Is My Wish', 'Recite and Ascend', etc. (QR 2,223,550); (2) International Ramadan Iftar and food package distributions for 25,675 families (145,050 people) in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Somalia, Myanmar, Nepal, and other countries (QR 4,899,830); (3) Local health, social, rehabilitation, and development projects (QR 19 million); and (4) International year-round projects and programs in 11 countries (QR 65,682,000).
