Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and the Qatari German Medical Devices Co. (QGMD), a leading Qatari medical supplier, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together in medical supply, hospital equipment, and technical training for health-related and humanitarian purposes. The agreement was signed by Ali bin Hassan Al-Hammadi, Secretary-General of QRCS, and Hamad Khamis Al-Kubaisi, Chairman of Serving as a framework for cooperation, the agreement involves procuring QRCS's short-term and long-term needs of medications, medical consumables, and medical equipment. It also covers providing hospital equipment, specialist technical and engineering training, and health care facilities. The purpose of the agreement is to meet the increasing demand for high-quality medical supplies for QRCS's numerous relief and development operations, in compliance with the fundamental principles of humanitarian action and relevant rules and regulations adopted by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Mr. Al-Hammadi welcomed the guests and stated, "This MoU embodies the bilateral understanding to ensure quick delivery of medical supplies for emergency and disaster response. It also seeks to minimize procurement and shipping periods. We will make use of the company's expertise in warehousing and shipping of medical materials. It will also offer technical assistance when requested, and we will coordinate to address any inconveniences in clearing and shipping documents in the destinations".
